Description

In Ferrano you have to park in the small area located just after the Church of St. Piero (access for concrete road that descends to the south). From the parking lot, it's back on the main road and after a few steps to the east, you go immediately down the path 13, which leads to ford the river Vicano (if the ford was difficult for the water level is too high, you can avoid a long ride on the paved road to the Bridge Ferrano, and then on the path 11 downhill to Castagneto).

After you cross the ford below Castagneto House, it crosses the path 11 and go up into the woods, following the no. 13. Arrived at Casa Certina, take the path 14A that leads us to Ristonchi (panorama), where we can admire the medieval tower.

It now follows the path that goes up to 14 dirt roads to the Villa del Cernitoio, and continues uphill through the woods increasingly dense conifer eastwards

You arrive at the junction with trail 11, which we take to get out to the West until the Bridge Ferrano. We went a few meters over the bridge, when the road becomes paved, and take the concrete road that climbs to the north, marked with n. 25. Let us close to the medieval settlement, until you reach the crossroads of S. Mary. We continue westwards along the path 25B practically flat, and pass near the Romanesque church of S. Maria in Ferrano (look, it's worth it). The trail soon leads us then to decline with n. 24, up to the point of departure.

The trail is suitable for every season, showed significant contrasts between environments and different exposures, in addition to various points of interest.
