Description

Long loop trail, very exposed to the sun, for the periods indicated more fresh. The path more logical, with the descent focused on return, would recommend a departure from Fontisterni. Here we prefer to describe the path starting from Pelago, the presence of services (food, bar, ...). A good alternative can also be a departure from Paterno (grocery store and bakery).

You park near the old town of Pelago and enter on foot in the village castle, characterized from the large square of the market place, slightly downhill. Arrived at the bottom, take the alley to the north and the subsequent steps leading down to the old bridge over the Vicano.
The road, already marked path n. 11, leading to cross the main road (watch for traffic) then climb up the concrete road, which will take us Villa Grassina along the path n. 13.

Admired the Villa Grassina go up for a little while on the road, then bend significantly to the north, on the path that leads us to the fields and woods, to the House of Certina. Before we get to the house, take the path 14A (south) that leads in a short to the village of Ristonchi, dominated by the medieval tower.
It falls now on the road to the south, more and more wide, erupting on the paved road that reaches the town of Paterno.
Continue along the main road in a southerly direction, passing over the Villa Paterno, and then take the path n. 6 down, always on asphalt, the Church of Pagiano and then, becoming dirt touches the Villa Melosa.

The trail 6 passes by the olive trees (close the gate), falls in the woods in a westerly direction until you reach the road to Fontisterni.

We arrive in the country on a paved road, cross it and take the road north to S. Lucia, indicated with n. 16.
The road, the dirt and the asphalt, arrives at Colle, where the trail 16 crosses the road Carbonile - Paterno.
We will continue on the dirt road, arriving in front of the Villa Altomena. From here we descend to the east on the road to the hillside, a dirt road that leads to the Casa della Pieve (horse riding). Shortly after (carefully) leave the road and the path 16, to go down to the river with the path Vicano 16A, which passes on the only pedestrian bridge, right key element of this process.

Reach the other side of the river, take the path 11 towards East, rising quickly in the center of Pelago.
