Description

Rufina and Contea are both easily accessible by train or bus, and just a few minutes: this facilitates the organization of the excursion.
The track is suitable for all seasons, just avoid the hottest days of summer.

It starts from Contea, in correspondence to the station. The entire route follows the south direction, and begin crossing the bridge over the Torrente Moscia, after which we go on the road that branches off to the left and leads, on asphalt, in the direction of hell. The road, which as a path 5, becomes a dirt road and, after a wide curve, you leave to rise rapidly over the house Bonriposo.

The trail follows the rural country road, passing the charming village of Contra and then takes us on the asphalt of the road for Turicchi and La Rata. Here we have two possibilities:
1. follow the path 51 that goes from Pianettole - Busini;
2. climb over the Church of Turicchi, and take the path 52 for Rugiano and Parish Castiglioni.

For option 2 looks Turicchi - Castiglioni.

Following the path 51, it drops to 100 m on the road, until you come to a cross devotional. Take in front of the paved road that passes by the houses Fabbri (to admire the way they are cared for homes and land, we have to cross over with) and follow the old route of vicinal down in the ditch and dates back to the village of Pianettole in at the Chapel.
From here we will head south, then climb through the woods until you reach the road near the Villa dei Busini and lead on the asphalted road that leads to Pomino.
We go down to 100 m to the south, then take the road that goes down to the Castle of Castiglioni.

Follow the path 51, we pass the castle and get to nice dirt road at the Casa del Poggio, where it crosses the variant of the Path of Memory (SM-V, to be avoided because it falls mostly on asphalt, very slippery when rain).
The path 51 descends towards the south-east towards the valley floor to connect to the MS path and follow the stream to the village Rufina.
